AUDIO: Witness describes shooting at Hunts Bay Police Station


An eyewitness to the gun-battle at the Hunts Bay Police Station yesterday afternoon says the attacker held the police at bay for a few minutes before he went down in a hail of bullets.

The eyewitness describes the chaos on the major thoroughfare which sent persons screaming and scampering for cover.

The gun-battle started minutes to one in the afternoon when a man who was reporting to the police as a stated condition of his bail was attacked by an armed man. The man on bail is facing a murder charge was shot and injured on the compound of the police station in plain view of several police officers.

This triggered a gun battle which lasted several minutes.

The armed man had come prepared for a fight as the police took a 9mm Glock pistol with three magazines and bullet proof vest from his body.
